BEFC vs BFC

BEFC vs BFC
14th October (Sat)
KO: 19:00 Meet: 18:00

BFC are old rivals of BEFC back in the day. In fact BFC used to be BEFC, and was formed when BEFC couldn't continue fielding an 11s team in the early 80s. BFC was formed and then staked the name to being Tokyo's oldest international team. In recent years BFC have been regularly challenging in division 1, while BEFC have been kept apart and battling BFC Vagabonds instead. Last year the current BEFC had their first taste of a division 1 challenge against an entirely NOT British BFC, which ended in a draw, but going out on penalties.

That was a very good match in which BEFC needed the first 40 minutes to adjust to a higher calibre of opposition, but then dominated the second half. So we could view this as a revenge match, especially against the team who kicked the ball out of our keepers hands (including his hands) for the first goal, punched Noki in the eye and then almost injured our keeper again by sliding in on him on the final whistle.

After running the gauntlet of the TML's top 3 teams and working on adjusting to the higher level this should be a really match to get stuck into a team who finished with substantially less points than all our previous opposition and get a true understanding of the range of challenge in TML D1.

This is a late kick off and in Chiba which is our least favourite pitch. Please try to get there early so we can be ready to discuss how we play in our formation, work on a few things and be ready to warm up before kick off. Also if you plan to come by car from Tokyo, be warned the roads are very busy especially on a Saturday night. Train maybe more reliable.
