AMIA Inter-Embassy - 6th Tokyo International Futsal Tournament
The NPO Active International Association, have held the Inter-Embassy Tokyo Int'l Futsal Tournament successfully five times with 14 embassy teams in last year.
This year, they will hold the sixth one with the support from MOFA Japan again.
It's an indoor futsal competition made up of embassy based teams although not exclusively. Last year we entered and after the traditionally bad start, beat the eventual winner in the group stage, and then thrashed Saudi Arabia (mostly made of Lions players) in the 7th place play offs.
Coincidentally the tournament is being played on exactly the same day as the TML squad are playing Lions in Fukuda-Denshi, so we look to enter a team on the strength and depth of our futsal members.
Chin is going to Captain our team for this.
Some details about the tournament:
- The team limit is up to 10 players
- Each match is 7 minutes
- Female players earn 2 points for a goal
- It's indoor, so court shoes --- not boots.
- As it is a sports center there are showers, but last time it lacked places to eat.
Entry per player is ¥1500.
The club is paying the rest of the entry fee.
While it'll be up to Chin, we'll announce the squad on the Wednesday before the same time we do the TML squads.
