BEFC Friendly Cup 2014
It's time for this year's Embassy Friendly Cup! Where BEFC hosts Japanese company NSK and a number of invitational guest teams at the Embassy for a Futsal Competition and BBQ!
What is the Friendly Cup?
BEFC hosts its own ‘Embassy Friendly Cup’ held on the Embassy with Japanese company NSK and additional invitational teams. NSK opened the first Japanese factory in the UK, and this long running relationship is recognised in this cup.
In previous years NSK would invite BEFC down to their pitches near Nagoya and put on a tournament and host us. BEFC invitation back is the ‘Friendly Cup’, a 6 - 7 team futsal tournament and BBQ held at the British Embassy in Hanzomon, Tokyo.

Tournament Details
The tournament is a round robin, in which each team plays each other once in 5 minute games.
The top two teams play off in the Friendly Cup Final, which is a 7 minutes.
There are no referees in the Friendly Cup, it is down to sportsmanship hence the name.
The Friendly Cup is about sportsmanship and enjoying football more than winning the title.
In a case where there are more than 2 equal top teams in the round robin, it will come down to overall goal difference and then if tied results against each other.
