With the last minute drop out of both goalkeepers BEFC's Team Red, already having called in additional players it was going to be tough. And as with the AMIA tournament, playing where is best for the team and not necessarily your strongest position was the story. Beginning in defence Ryan McChristian did a fine job protecting the back-line, but it soon became clear to BEFC that without a solid goalie the entire team were going to struggle. Ryan recognised this and opted to stand in as goalie providing the foundation that allowed BEFC Red to operate better, with his strong presence and reliability to keep the goals at bay.
Both his ability between the posts and sacrifice for the team were well appreciated by his team mates who overwhelmingly nominated Ryan McChristian the Adecco BEFC Red MVP for the FJC Charity 7s, with the added accolades of being a super nice guy too!
