Adecco MVP BEFC vs Zion FC - Kentaro Takahashi

  • BEFC vs Zion FC 2018

BEFC entered a must win game against co-promoted club Zion FC in order to have a chance of staying up in Division 1. With a good track record against Zion it was surpring that the previous fixture they had dispatched 3rd placed Pumas 4 - 2 to keep themselves ahead of BEFC in the struggled to avoid the drop. Around now is the end of many Japanese leagues and so it is not unusual for team to suddenly acquire 'irregular' players towards the end of the season. This was confirmed somewhat later by a Pumas' Captain who did not recognise the Zion FC team they had faced with a suggestion many of them actually belonged to a well known University begonning with 'K' instead. Which Zion were turning up to play BEFC?

BEFC were without departing Captain Ben Palmer, and entering Captain Jorge Marenco for this fixture so the task fell to long time BEFC veteran James Pounder to marshall the players and bring home the important victory. Reports came back of a hard match, a match unlike playing a Zion FC well known to BEFC, but thankfully ending in BEFC's favour 2 -1 with goals from Nils Simon and Go Oomichi. Described as a 'Mourinho-esque Effort' BEFC got the job done when it needed to get done!

Post-match Adecco MVP nominations were full of praise for a well known craftsmen of football wizardry Kentaro Takahashi who has continued to evolve his game over the season with vital holding play and attacking guile, to generate the attacks, keep the pressure away from the back-line and provide the two assists for the winning goals. For the Adecco BEFC Most Valuable Player against Zion FC it was clearly Takahashi to uphold the well deserved honours.
