Adecco MVP BEFC vs Pumas - Ken Hamaya

  • Adecco BEFC MVP vs Pumas - Ken Hamaya

After nearly one month from the last win against Sala, BEFC faced the last season D1 champion  - Pumas FC. With some late dropouts, two of BEFC players needed to start in the second favorite position - Katsu as CB and Yuki as FB but they did a great job for the team.

BEFC was well motivated for the game, and had a good start moving ball quickly. After 15 mins, BEFC had the first chance to score. After brilliant link up play amongst Fred, Kotaro and Kenta on the left, Ririo received the ball facing the goal. Beautiful pass from Ririo came behind the Puma’s back line. Although the first attempt by Tsukasa was blocked by Pumas defender, Tsukasa quickly responded the second ball and broke the deadlock. BEFC took the lead 1-0.

After 25 mins in the first half, Pumas brought a fast winger in and he made an immediate impact providing an assist of equalizing goal. The disaster continued. Baptiste got the second yellow card of the day due to arguing too much to the ref while doing linesman and was sent off. Both sides were looking for another goal but the first half ended up 1-1.

In the early stage of the second half, Pumas got a corner kick. BEFC goalie’s hands didn’t reach the high ball and Pumas scored from their favorite air play.
The bad day for BEFC still continued. BEFC captain Nils got injured by heavy tackle and dislocated his shoulder. He was hospitalized after the game and probably out for 2-3 months.

After the incident, BEFC tried hard to get a goal. Toshinori utilized his pace to cross the ball in the box, and Ririo had a chance to score near the 6 yards box but wet pitch forced him to miss it and his shot went over the bar. BEFC couldn’t get a goal and ended up 1-2 loss.

For MVP nominations, few names came up but this time MVP goes to BEFC new defense master Ken Hamaya. Defensively Hamaya was in the right position always. Without him, BEFC would have conceded more goals. Also, he showed the potential to put his name on scoresheet from set-pieces.
Therefore the Adecco MVP for BEFC versus Pumas is Ken Hamaya!
