Adecco MVP BEFC Lions vs Saitama Jets - Akito Shimizu

BEFC Lions went into this game after over a month’s break with high hopes after their opponents, Saitama Jets had just been beaten 11-0 by Clash.

The team travelled to the most inaccessible pitch in the league, Redsland for this game on a Sunday evening, with a squad full of Lions-only players.

The game was tense, and the team had to battle with playing against strong wind in the first half, eventually conceding a goal.

Richard and Jeremy combined well in the midfield to keep shape, with Ben Knott providing leadership in the back for Mark, Masa and Seth. Kaz and Mamoru started up front and on the left-wing, in the hope of scoring their first goals of the season, but it wasn’t to be in this game.

The deadlock was eventually broken by Ben Knott, after heading in a beautiful cross from Akito. The header must have been perfectly cushioned, because it seemed to go into the goal in super slow motion, with the goalkeeper powerless to do anything.

For providing composure with bite in midfield, and for delivering the important assist to secure the draw, the Adecco MVP for this game is Akito Shimizu.
