Adecco MVP BEFC Ladies Shibuya-ku Ladies Futsal Tournament - Mari Wada

The BEFC Ladies team made a strong showing in the Shibuya-ku tournament after a few months of cancelled tournaments. The morning rain, cold weather, and young teams gave the ladies some challenges. However, the ladies were able to pull together and earned third place in the tournament. Patri defended well in the mid- and backfield in her last tournament with the Ladies team. She was helped by Kate, Rachel, and Sharon. Their excellent tackling and marking helped to keep the opponents from scoring. Strikers Ayuko, Tomo, and Heather attacked consistently and passed well, leading to great goals to put the Ladies team in the top of the tournament. The MVP award for the Shibuya-ku tournament goes to Mari Wada for her fantastic plays in both defence and offense. Playing first as a striker then as a defender, Mari scored one goal, stopped many attacks, and supported the team from the sidelines. Because Mari was able to fill any position when needed, the Ladies team was able to play fluidly together in each match. Thanks to Mari’s sportsmanship and skill, the BEFC Ladies continues to be a top ranking futsal team.
