Adecco MOM BEFC vs Pumas - Inaki Zulaika

  • Adecco BEFC Man of the Match Award - Inaki Zulaika

When playing against a side that put away 71 goals over all their opposition in Division 3 walking away with a clean sheet is an achievement. When you are down to 10 men it's even more impressive. And the most impressive display of goal keeping came from Inaki Zulaika whose shot stopping, cross clearing and all round goal keeping magic made that possible - this is why Inaki Zulaika is the Adecco BEFC Man of the Match.

BEFC have a traditional of being useless at the start of the season, and it was great to break that traditional with an all round spirited performance from the team. Early on we struggled to find rhythm and cohesion but slowly the team began working more smoothly together. By the second half BEFC were more in control than Pumas, although we definitely still need to work on some positioning in the middle of the park and get back to slowing down a little before bombing forward. At 10 men we really pulled well together as a unit and soaked up Pumas on attack, but then really troubling them with our counter moves and great running from the offence resulting that exquisite late goal.

Nils Simon gets an honorable mention for an outstanding debut despite picking up a red card, as all of us got used to a more delicate game being governed by the new referee than what we are used to.

A wonderful performance from Inaki among a lot of great performances and overall team performance. Now let's keep it up and concentrate on gelling as a squad.
