Last week after futsal the lads broke a Spot record taking over our favourite neighbourhood watering hole with an entourage of about 15 thirsty players!
What could cause such a record to be broken, but the Sayonara beer for BEFC Vice Captain and club MVP Rich Sciver.

Rich, the gentleman he is, sent a thank you message to the club, and since it'll express his Sayonara far better than we can write let's hear from the man himself....

Hi All

I wanted to say thank you and farewell for the moment to you all at BEFC. Thank you especially also to those who came along to The Spot to make it a special evening for me. We had a record turn out - didn't count but it must have been 15 of us at least. Luckily Keith had planned ahead and warned them in advance! We saw a new side to Moctar the translating barman/waiter - looks as though he maybe getting a new job there on Wednesday nights.

We have a new photo in the Spot to record the 2016 BEFC crew 11', Futsal & Social - so hope you see yourself in it next time you pop in after futsal. Congratulations to Arthur who is the new holder of the Richard Sciver Beer & Social Trophy - he was a bit surprised to receive the trophy, but by the end of the evening had proved he deserved it.

It's two thankyous to Keith, the first for the terrific artistry and invention in my leaving pressie - A great caricature and deserves an appropriate spot on one of my walls. Which one I am not sure yet. The second is for his terrific save diving to his left to Palm away my screaming volley in the dying moments of my futsal career - I was always destined to remain scoreless on the night no matter how long I played !

I wish everyone more BEFC success and enjoyment - season 15/16 has been terrific and I hope that you can build on the momentum and contribute as much as you can either to TML, training, Futsal, the tornaments, The Spot, the BBQs, other social occasions and even the AGMs.

With best wishes and many thanks for your friendship over the last couple of years.

Of course BEFC would like to thank Rich for everything he's done for the club. He has been hugely influential to our growth over the last two years, and the driving force behind such fantastic events such as the Friendly Cup, Christmas Party and Summer BBQ --- which would have been nothing like they were without him.
On the pitch with a consistently solid assured left back performance, Rich stuffed many a young, quick tricky winger who thought he could get the better of him.

The amount Rich has done behind the scenes in elevating BEFC from a team to much more of a club can't be stated enough, so of course he's going to be hugely missed as we plough on our quest for quality play,  good friends and football glory!

Hopefully he'll be back soon. I hear there is a Rugby World Cup in Japan at some point ...
And if you are in London drop him a line and meet up.
