BEFC 11s Player of the Year Award 2015 - Ben Palmer | British Embassy Football Club, Tokyo Japan (BEFC)

Congratulations to captain Ben Palmer, winning the BEFC Player of the Year Award 2015. Since taking over as Captain last season, he must be doing something right!
Known for his meticulous attention to tactics and highly proficient in the lesser recognised technique of 'organisation', BEFC are yet unbeaten in the TML Division 2 and went 4 games without conceding a single goal. Pioneering the defensive technique of 'Don't let them kick it to the quick kid', Ben stalks the space behind the defensive line, hunting down and mauling any runners who think they are going to latch onto a cheap through ball. Sometimes chipping in with the odd goal, he's not that bad in general either. Captaining as a captain should, Ben is the BEFC 11s Player of the Year 2015.

Runner up is vice captain and treasurer Jorge Marenco who hoovered up the Futsal award and Golden Boot runner up. Terrorising opposition defences and referees, there is a reason we created the Marenco Fair Play award in his honour. Impossible determination in getting the ball, and a constant goal scoring menace Jorge is the BEFC dangerman -- he just needs to wear a cape and mask to strike more fear into other team's hearts (and referees).

Close behind is midfield destruction maestro Shun Ishihara. Relentlessly bossing the middle of the park, Shun is the forcefield that screens the BEFC back-line and part of the powerful combination which kept BEFC runs clean sheets for 4 consecutive games and have the strongest defence in Division 2. Also as a platform for sparking the attack, Shun provides the outlet and bridge to transition the defence into attack.
