Adecco MVP FJC New Year 7s - Kentaro Takahashi

  • Adecco BEFC FJC New Year 7s MVP - Kentaro Takahashi

The Footy Japan Competitions New Year 7s tournament was a bit of a disappointing affair for BEFC, who despite some really strong play crashed out losing all games by a 1 single goal. This was only made slightly better by learning that the opposition teams in their group - won the entire tournament, made the cup semi-final, and won the Plate Competition 8-0. The trend of being in the group of death continues. Some stand-out moments were Ben Palmer's cross pitch run and long range missile goal versus Nankutsu FC and defensive shut down of Pumas FC involving double shot blocking body dives. Not to be outdone by this Kentaro Takahashi produced what might become a trademark - halfway line goal from kick off (one more please to make it official), and Quantum Physics volley on the back post from a mega Kaz Fushimi Godzilla style throw-in. Quantum because the opposition claimed the ball was out of bounds, which would have meant Ken needed to make particals change into a ball in a different location to bend it into the goal. After the tournament at the lovely sun bathed cafe tables of the YCAC the MVP was put to vote of all attended and Ken's Quantum Football skills were unanimously praised by all - making Kentaro Takahashi the Adecco FJC New Year's 7s Most Valuable Player!
