Adecco MVP BEFC Lions vs Sagarmatha FC - Jaisal Shah

  • Adecco BEFC Most Valuable Player vs FC Sagamatha - Jaisal Shah

A hard fought game, with a bitter result, but considering the whopping defeat BEFC Lions suffered at the hands of Sagarmatha last time it would be fair to say that there is a clear progress being made by the team. It was remarked by members that the team has now improved in patience, passing and movement of the ball, and although defeat was in the cards for this game, BEFC Lions' proved again that they are growing as a team, and this was all represented by the players in their aggressive and mature display! Part of this attacking threat was led by MVP Jaisal Shah, who was widely regarded as a the largest threat to Sagarmatha from the wings, often pushing through speed and pressing their defense. On a side note he also admitted to a personal friendly feud with a Sagarmatha player, who ironically had a part in Jaisal's goal...good on Jaisal

In a reconfigured attack, and adapting to the players available, BEFC Lions found a their fangs in hardworking and communicative Jeremy Joyce, another candidate for MVP who was often directing his teammates and showing that "aggression" that Lions complained about lacking earlier in the season. Aided by solid defending from CBs Seth and Masaaki, Lions were free to push forward linking passes through Vice Captains Goran and Kaz, who provided a consistent link up with the wings from which the Lions scored eventually. Set pieces and a bit of luck played their role in Sagarmatha's goals, but Lions were more focused on getting their own football working, and will slowly build on those weaknesses as they grow into a team with time.

For his offensive display, displaying an improved connection with his teammates culminating in a goal, and winning his personal feud Jaisal Shah is the Adecco BEFC MVP for this match.
