Following this season’s first victory for the BEFC Lions in the league, a very similar line-up faced off against Oakland Clash FC.

Last season had seen the BEFC Lions knock Clash out of the Cup, and drawing one and losing one in the league.

BEFC Lions started strong, taking the lead from a corner. A brilliant delivery from Akito was headed in by Max.

However, as per the pattern for the two teams, Clash FC equalized before half-time in similar fashion, scoring their own header from a corner.

In the second half, spotting the goalkeeper off his line, Akito launched a lob from near the half-way line which went over the keeper’s head and into the goal.

Excellent defending from Seth, Ben K, Masa and Tsukasa saw us grind out this victory with a one goal lead – a fitting revenge as this was also how we lost to Clash in the final game of last season.

For his involvement in both goals, the Adecco MVP for this match is Akito Shimizu.
