Adecco MVP BEFC Lions vs Albion Old Boys - Mark Kuroda

  • Adecco BEFC MVP vs Albion Old Boys - Mark Kuroda

BEFC Lions went into this game with a large squad, with enough of a safety-cushion in the league table to play without fear.

The Lions started brightly, attacking the Old Boys multiple times, but by the end of the first half, only had one goal to show for it. Charles had done well to get onto the end of a delicious through-ball from Akito, dinking over the goalkeeper.

The team were unlucky in the first half, with the ball crossing the line but the keeper clawing it out. The team weren’t persuasive enough to convince the referee to give the goal, so another chance to increase the lead was missed.

This became much worse in the second half. Jeremy, although he will want to forget it, took the ball into the box, dribbling past players but miscuing his kick, missing the ball and falling to the ground. To his credit, he got right back up and smashed the ball against the cross bar.

Later, after Viran dispossessed a defender and was in on goal, he passed the ball to Charles with the aim to help him become top scorer, but in hindsight after Charles missed, the captain should have gone for goal himself.

Akito was unlucky to get a goal, after a venomous curling free kick was somehow saved by the keeper with a great save for the cameras. Yuta also failed to capitalized on another great through-ball, launching the ball over the bar when 1-1 with the keeper.

While the attack floundered, the defence played well throughout the game, and Mark in particular demonstrated the stability he brings to the LB position, as a goal was conceded two minutes after he was substituted off.

The Lions were unable to pull a goal back, and the game ended 1-1.

For demonstrating his importance to the team, and for not nominating himself, the Adecco MVP for this match is Mark Kuroda.
