BEFC Red began AMIA International Futsal Tournament in Group B with a more traditional BEFC start of some early defeats before coming together late to start firing with spectacular 6-1 win over a very good Korean side but just missing out on the finals. BEFC Red took on Russia in the playoffs defeating them on penalties to finish 5th. Overhearing a team talk it was said, 'that even if a player might be stronger in a certain position, they should play were is best for the team' and those very wise words sparked the change BEFC Red's game.
Noted for overall all great performance by his team mates, Arthur Villanueva was praised not only for his brilliant defending and playmaking ability, but offering some great words in the team talks which lifted and gelled the team together. It's often been said that a great team will defeat a team of brilliant individuals and getting everyone onboard to achieve this one of sport's great puzzles. For his great performances, selfless play and team gelling words of wisdom, Arthur Villanueva is Adecco MVP for BEFC Red in the AMIA International Futsal Tournament.
