Adecco MOM BEFC vs Zion FC - Go Oomichi

  • Adecco BEFC Man of the Match Award - Go Oomichi

In a fine all round team display all players put in a great performance. However there can only be one MOM. While scoring the goals doesn't a Man of the Match make, it does when we consider where they are scored from. Playing deep in holding midfield, breaking down attacks and bombing forward into attack Go Oomichi notched up two goals to his name, all from a defensive position and without calling on the spirit of Pounder once. Resolute and aware defending, working with his team mates when Zion had the ball, then getting forward into the mix when BEFC attacked creating link up play --- and scoring goals. With some sublime passing, a special second half through ball even warranted applause from the referee -- and that is more than enough to award Go Oomichi the Adecco BEFC Man of the Match.

A great team win against Zion, everyone communicating together. The defence from front to back just moved as one shutting down any pass lanes and then pouncing on ball carriers without support, savaging them and winning the ball back, or forcing them into a easy to read punt forward. The attack looked like hot knives buzzing around, and in the second half there was one incredible looking display of pass and move which nearly ended in a goal.

Zion 'were' the 2nd placed and they are a decent team who deserve to be there. But when we play as we did, BEFC play at a completely higher level and capable of crushing opposition. Football is a multiplier sport. When teams work and communicate together the level of each individual on the park is multiplied and we could see that in effect.
