Adecco MOM BEFC vs Saitama Jets - James Pounder

  • Adecco BEFC Man of the Match Award - James Pounder

After a wobbly end to 2015 BEFC got back on track with a crushing win over Saitama Jets in the FJC Plate. It took until near the second half for the team to remember who each other were but once it clicked back together BEFC backed up their ambition with some classy football and overpowering play. Leading on from Go Oomichi's spritual channeling vs Kodansha, James Pounder showed what happens when he's there in person racking up a classy hatrick as the secretly named operation Drogba started to bear fruit - big melon sized goal fruit.
Pounder provided a constant threat, occupying and terrorising the Jets' back-line, tackling, winning everything in the air, tireless running, playing in team mates and of course scoring goals. Earning a red boot print down his side, as a present (or trophy) from the Jets' goalkeeper, his balls out play, battle scar bootprint and hatrick hero makes James Pounder the Adecco BEFC Man of the Match.

Despite the disjointed start, which is what happens when we don't play together for about a month, once we clicked back in, all the performances were very good. Especially the second half, and especially when players came back in from substitutions. The impact and extra level of intensity was easily noticed, and it broke Jets apart. The unlocking of goals was from overall good attacking team play and fluid movement. If we can continue this form we can be racking up wins with juicy scorelines.
