Adecco MOM BEFC vs Musketeers - Nils Simon

  • Adecco BEFC Man of the Match Award - Nils Simon

BEFC's run finally came to an end after a disappointing defeat to Musketeers. Whether it was the curse of Team of the Week or 3 games in 3 weeks or a slightly changed line up, the video report actually shows Musketeers making the most of 2 wonder goals and BEFC just not making it in the final 3rd. Apart from that despite how it felt, BEFC dominated possession, the defence was not overly threatened but just couldn't break a stubborn Musketeers down. This isn't to say BEFC were playing their best football, the flow of passing was somewhat off, but contrast were in no way outplayed, and were the dominant side. However to win matches were it's not going your way, and you need to overcome the odd, you always have to be at your sharpest.
Musketeers fielded some very fast strikers, and generally relied on punting it at them, forcing the defence to play deeper and giving them a job to do which they did well. In particular Nils Simon's opposite man was none other than Division 1 speedster Keizo Ondiege of 3rd place Panthers. Simon kept Ondiege quiet for most of the game, as well as plenty of strong and vital tackles around the park. On top of that Simon was heavily involved in initiating the attacks from deep and getting it into the dangerous positions for the attackers to strike. For a solid game against a dangerous opposite number and noticeable strong involvement in both defence and attack Nils Simon is the Adecco BEFC Man of the Match versus Musketeers.
