Once again a hostly contested MOM awards for a match in which really it was a total team performance. However there can only be one Adecco BEFC MOM, and so the player earning this honour was hotly debated. In a match versus a team known for overpowering the midfield with runners, Shun played the position of defensive midfield to perfection, shielding the back line and destroying anything that game through the middle. Communicating with the defence constantly he made sure he was covering the zones needed, and intercepted and won countless challenges. Always available in the middle to initiate attacks, his free kick delivery into the box was also spot on. Add to that tireless running and covering when defensive players burst forward, Shun Ishihara is Adecco BEFC Man of the Match.

This was a really good team display, with everyone working hard and for each other. Our substitutions were almost seamless with no dips in quality and threat, just fresh legs - which really must have been a nightmare for Lions. The goals were really nice, showing our fast break danger but also the value of hitting the byline and cutting back to bodies getting themselves in the box.
We were also much better in terms of positioning and positional discipline in this match, which has been good but sometimes goes little wobbly in our previous games. So let's continue now to gel even more with this as an example for a full team effort.
