Adecco MOM BEFC vs JETRO - Kentaro Takahashi

  • Adecco BEFC Man of the Match Award - Kentaro Takahashi vs JETRO

BEFC continued their assault for the Division title with a dominant performance over a very defensive JETRO who have the second best defensive record in Division 2. From kick off JETRO played almost entirely with no strikers and BEFC trapped them in their own half. A brilliantly worked free kick saw BEFC take an early lead and they soon capitalised further with more goals. This didn't change the game much except later in the half the constant pressuring, and sitting back (resting) from JETRO saw BEFC tire and allow the opposition to threaten on the counter attack.
The match continued in high octane fashion, with BEFC losing a little bit of discipline in search of more goals.... at one moment almost looking like a 4-2-4 and not a 4-1-4-1.
In this case BEFC were able to get away with the lack of attention to defence, despite giving the back-line a bit of late game trauma. In the end it was job well done with some great performances all over the pitch ---- if for some a little indisciplined.
One player who covered the spectrum of footballing performance was Kentaro Takahashi, opening the scoring with a brilliant freekick to the top right corner, over the wall and leaving the keeper standing. In his quest for the Golden Boot he had to fend off his rival from Zion FC and did so by chalking up a deserved hat-trick. Not only doing a strikers job, Takahashi was creating link up play, making some inspired direct solo runs late in the game and flying back into the BEFC half for some quality steals and shut downs on the opposition's build up players.
The man of the match nominations were again close, as another solid team performace went in, but for his all round play, extra-effort and deserved hat-trick, Kentaro Takahashi is the Adecco Man of the Match vs JETRO.
