The training match against Hoshino FC was a solid BEFC performance versus a very good side we've seen take other teams apart. Hoshino FC are a skilful, young Japanese team who play in a very tiki-taka style. To only to concede one goal, and that being a header from a corner was very impressive in the 6-1 overall win.
The reputation of the tenacious BEFC defence stood strong, especially pressuring and closing down a fast opposition used to moving the ball quickly in tight spaces.
One BEFC goal particularly was a beautiful press in which all escape channels were sucessfully shut down, forcing a turnover and a finish on goal. Even though it was a smaller pitch its the first time we've seen it work so cleanly. A man involved in all these moves, ferociously shutting down any movement through the middle, mixing it up in the attacking play and netted two goals was Alo Saekk. Alo was involved everywhere, from link play going forward, tracking back to dispossess midfield runners, and popping up from deep into attacking positions. For a great midfielder's performance, big work-rate and a particularly impressive headed goal Alo Saekk is the Adecco BEFC Man of the Match vs Team Hoshino.
